Can't agree, Borg was my favourite, but then they are all different eras. I honestly think everyone at their best, Sampras was just in front of Federer. But then Djokovic is such a machine. Either way whatever era Murray has done well to win what he has.

He has so much elegance on the court and makes it look so easy most of the time and yeah he probably is the greatest of all time.

    Hope he beats Djokovic.

Federer playing against a higher standard of competition, has 17 grand slams to Borg's 11 and has won all four. Borg never won on hard court. No contest.

I love Murray, but his second serve has cost him for years. In fact, his serve has full stop. Everyone marvels (rightly) at Federer's talents, but his serve is often overlooked. It's pretty much perfection. The fact he's also so good at everything else makes him great. His longevity (look at Nadal now, he's spent) and his ultimate professionalism and yes, the best player there's ever been.

Unfortunately for Murray... Nadal and Djokovic are probably in the top 5 too. Of all time.

His serve aside, today he played brilliantly, had the better of Roger in a lot of the match, but the serve is key.

I think Federer will beat Novak, hope so too. Deserves to make history.

Agree YT, his second serve used to be embarrassing and although it is much improved, as with his first serve its just so lacking. Real shame because the rest of his game is fantastic

Pretty sure I wrote that Borg was my favourite, but that Sampras was the best, so re-load.

All about timing, who you're facing etc. no one will ever agree. Hope Fed kicks his @rse Sunday, but he won't.
And every player has a bad surface and a good one.

Yes, he had the better of him in lots of the play. Unfortunately, the very first game aside, he didn't get a sniff on Roger's service game and on his own serve, he came up short as usual at critical points. **** all in the game otherwise. See the score. He broke him at the end of each set, in games Murray could have seen out. As I said, serve was key and Murray's isn't at Federer's level. In the rest of the match, he was ******* brilliant.

    "what was the difference, Roger?"

    "the serve, the critical points"

I know more than thee Bob about everything apart from **** bets. :)

    Hope this helps.

Tennis is a game of very small margins and whoever takes these points wins like you say very little difference in the play Deseret won the big points.

I'm born in 89 & Federer's the best sportsman of my lifetime. There's been some greats, Schumacher, Woods, Messi but Federer's unbelievably good.

Federer is ridiculously good. Murray didn't do too much wrong today, but Federer hardly put a foot wrong
