I know it's immaterial now, as we won, but if there were doubts about JCR's fitness from the midweek internationals, why wasn't Ricketts on the bench instead of JCR? With about 10 minutes to go, I thought Leon was looking very tired & thought a fresh injection of pace might relieve some of the pressure that we were under at that time. Hassell replaced Leon to obviously stiffen things up but was that because JCR wasn't a realistic option?
Hassell was obviously a more defensive option to bring on as we were 2-1 up. Probably weren't doubts about his fitness, just probably wouldn't do the full 90 minutes so Devaney got the nod.
Thought it was just because Howard does a good job defensively. He slotted in on the left to help protect Kozzy and allowed Hassell and Anderson to sit in the centre and negate Morrison. Good tactical substitution for me.
