What an opponent to put him up against....... http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5jyXekN-xdn9VTdEjb8rrYeTkEMwQ
Makes a change from the part time electricians he usually fights,if only we can now get Calzaghe to fight somebody under 40 years old.
What an absolute joke! Why does Kahn deserve to get in the ring with Barrera when he hasn't even got the British title yet? It's a risky, but wise, move because if Amir fails here that's his career over, however Barrerra doesn't possess massive power at the weight, and I think Amir's stamina could prove the key. Barrera won't take a dive though as he's being lined up for a World Title Fight in the summer.
Not the old Calzaghe chestnut. He fought two very good unbeaten champs in their prime before he made his money fighting big names past their prime. He's nothing to prove to anybody. And before you retort with 'what's Lacy done since?', at the time they fought he (Lacy)was being touted as an unbeatablemonster at super middle and Calzaghe was the underdog.
Indeed He Will Khan will be experiencing his second defeat of his career, but at least he's fighting someone decent.
Mr Warren is a very cleaver man...
Since his KO, Khan has been very hard to sell.... Warren knows this, so rather than feed him stiffs he throws Khan into a fight with a massive name.
The fight will be easy to sell to PPV in the States and on Box Office here. If Khan loses he will walk away with credibility intact(unless its a 1st rounder and thats unlikely as Barerra isn't a fast starter) ... we English love a loser.. and if he wins, it rockets himback into the top bracket where he was before Prescott.
A win win for Frankie...

RE: Not the old Calzaghe chestnut. I like Calzaghe,he shows great determination and an unbelievable recovery rate after hes knocked down but he does fight old men, whether you like it or not you have to ask the question about Lacey what has he done since?the answer is nothing, its only been the last few fights that Joe has stopped this windmill girlie style slapping but he has the heart of a lion,it will be interesting to see who he will fight next?
Kahn will not get mauled Kahn is big for his weight, a weight that isn't natural for barrera, and as stated below barrera is a slow starter. Not saying Kahn will win, but an ageing barrera gives Kahn the chance to look very impressive indeed. Master stroke by warren, but still a joke that Kahn is even getting this chance to put himself in such a high class shop window
Kahn has done nothing to impress me. He was outclassed by Kindelan at the Olympics and was straight up hammered by Prescott. He's fought no one of any real class and he will come vastly unstuck against Barrera. Age or no age. I agree, how the hell this match has been set up, I'll never know.
