We're skint, and we can't compete with anyone in the league, but don't let that put you off, even the teams in the league below have more money than us, but it's ok, we're only little Barnsley, we know our limitations.

We're selling our best player, but we have no choice, and on the plus side we have had some bids rejected for some players so we are trying a bit. We might get a few bob for Jacob so at least we won't go bust in the first quarter.
oh, and we've offered some contracts to some players... Fingers crossed and all that...

I wouldn't bother with the games against Bolton or Wolves, cos they'll be in the top six, without a doubt, but we'll do our best against the others, and it'll be a great achievement just to stay up.

Fancy a new replica shirt for your holidays? I think we might be doing one ... Someone in the shop might know .... Anyway, we'll definitely have one for the new season. Not sure what the away one will be like, but no one is really that fussed are they......

Anyway, get down to Oakwell, for another season of relegation struggle .... £400 and we promise to keep the positivity flowing out of the club..... Stronger together....

Blimey, I'd got up in quite a good mood

After reading your post, Fiona, I think I'll crawl back under the duvet!:D
By the way, I think you're absolutely correct. Unfortunately.

Sorry. It's cos I read the Chron.

Anyway I'm off to work where there will be more enthusiasm on display by kids facing real struggle than I'll get all season at Oakwell.

    Ah, the memories

Being a teenager, I knew everything and had all the answers. Now in my fifties, I realise I knew bugger all then and know bugger all now!!:D

    I wasn't

I thought his methods of bringing on young players, selling them off cheaply (it's not something the club has suddenly started to do) and replacing them with cheaper, more experienced players was out of order. He was also older, very experienced and bald so obviously had no idea what he was doing! Looking back, I can't believe just how much of an arrogant, crass, egotistical, know-it-all pillock I was (probably still am)! As I said, I thought I knew everything. I was wrong.

Unfortunately you're bang on. I hope we're not going to have a full preseason of excuses for future failure- I'm already getting a bit bored.

Just wish we didn't chalk "can't be bothered" on everything.
    Club shop
    Food outlets
    Preedys
    FA cup centenary
    150 years
    Season tickets
    Signings
    And above all
    Generating enthusiasm of the fans.
Seems to me that if the supporters trust doesn't do it, it isn't going to happen.
