if we can put our manager on a rolling contract, which I think is a good idea, why don't we offer the players with potential the same? If they were on say a 2yr rolling contract wouldn't that get round the 'only 6 months left flog em cheap in Jan at the first bid' problem. If we wanted to sell we still could, and if they stopped having potential we stop the rolling.
Because a player wants to have a contract that can end at some point. That means they hold the aces and can **** off and go to the highest bidder, therefore having all the control. No player would agree to a rolling contract.
you could be right, but there is some security in it for them, plus if a player wants out they'll find a way ... its just that this way we would get some decent recompense. I would have thought it worth a try
I'm sure I read that one of P'boros youngsters was on an 18 month rolling contract but I may be wrong.
