Hes the best striker playing in Midfield England have got. If he retires we'll be fooked because we haven't got any decent inform actual midfielders

At one point 2nd half he made 5 passes to the opposition, two sideways passes fell over the ball once and lost possession twice and kicked the ball into touch

We've got drinkwater but for some reason he can't even get in the squad.

Rooney does a great impression of an overweight Steven Gerrard whose legs have gone.

Yes. Lose Rooney and stop creating a position for him and have a proper overhaul of the England squad similar to the way Germany did a few years ago. Also drop Hart for the first few qualifiers as it will give him teh kick up the arse he got at Man City when Caballero (sp) took his place.

Be given the choice to retire before he is dropped.

Send him back under his rock. I agree we should have a complete overhaul from the top down.

I agree about an overhaul the only problem with that is the depth of talent playing in Germany compared to that in the English leagues at the minute. We've let to many non British players come into the league and the national team is suffering because of it.

We've already had an overhaul, didn't we have the youngest team at the Euros?

Don't know why Ross Barkley didn't get a game mind.

In my opinion, Rooney still has a lot to offer. He's still a good player and I think he has done well in that midfield role (last night being the exception).

But while he's in the England team, and is captain, managers will continue to try and build teams around him.

So for the good of English football, he needs to call time on his England career I think.

Ye he needs to go. This tournament has reminded me of that farcical game against Northern Ireland in the mid-00's when we built a team around Beckham playing centre mid & it all going wrong.

We need a manager not afraid to drop big names & who will pick players to suit his system rather than picking players & then trying to figure out a system for them to play in.

Taking 5 strikers & only playing 1 central striker whilst using 3 of them as either wingers or a centre midfielder has been an embarrassment.
