League One club Southend United have made a £250,000 bid for Plymouth Argyle's out-of-favour striker Rory Fallon.

It is believed the Pilgrims have accepted the offer for the 25-year-old, although there has been no confirmation of that from the club.

Fallon was signed for Argyle by former boss Ian Holloway from Swansea City for £300,000 last January.

He has made only nine starts for the Pilgrims since then, plus 21 substitute appearances, and scored a total of three goals.

Southend previously tried to sign Fallon when he moved from Swindon to Swansea in January 2006.

Been Involved In 30 Matches And Only 3 Goals

Going back to the level he belongs at then. It didn't take Sturrock long to want him gone.

As many goals as 4 of our strikers added together then!

KO-1
Mostto-1
Christensen-1
Coulson-0
total=3

Fallon-3
No worse than our lot is he.

Like thats even any where near a reasonable comparison

I'ld be prepared to put money on all 3 of our strikers exceeding bambi's record given the same number of games.

And yes, as it happens, you do talk *****.

RE: Like thats even any where near a reasonable comparison

KO- involved in 23 games -1 goal
Mostto- invoved in 15 games -1 goal
Christensen-involved in13 games - 1 goal
Couson- involved in 2 games - no goals

total games strikers involved in 53, goals scored_3

Fallon got more goals on his own in less involvment,

Not saying he is any good , cos he aint, but it shows we have not progressed in the strikers since he was here.

By the way no need for insults

Nevertheless

Mostto not given a fair crack yet and allowance must be made for his culture shock. Had little more than the last 10 mins or so if/when he's actually come on in the games he's been "involved" in apart from the starts with KO.

Christensen not started a game?, had little more than the last 10 mins or so if/when he's actually come on in the games he's been "involved" in.

Coulson..hardly worth a mention.did well on Tues but can't see any major contribution there. Can't see Parker being much different apart from he's probably a little pacier.

Ferenczi is obviously a progression from bambi though he's currently not doing much in the box but has been playing deep and signifantly assisted in all other areas.10 goals 35 games.

KO..good scoring record in the lower leagues..better than all our previous strikers since chopra. Done well last couple of games IMHO but not got the finishing touch at the moment..caused defences real problems. There's still time for the lad to do well.

Maybe fallon is comparabel at the moment to any one of them but IMHO I dont see Fallon nor Nardiello making much of an impact at this level.

Has Odejayi got a good scoring record in the lower leagues?

He scored 30 goals in 148 games for Cheltenham. A goal every 5 games. I'd hardly call that prolific.
