    Who'd want the Job given:

    A) our record of going through managers and the reasons for their dismissal

    B) bottom of the championship

    c) worst performing team in the football league

    d) a defence that has got a bigger leak in it than the titanic

    e) 48 hrs until transfer window shuts

    f) a chairman that backs you then sacks you five after 5 games

    as much as i love this club, the decision to send him now instead of doing it in the summer could cripple this club for the next 5 years.

    is just taking the piss 5 games my asre hes had a fairer run than most other clubs would have given him based on his results

    A) Davey was into his 4th season which I think is good patience.

    B) Managing anyone at championship level is a good job.

    C) See point B.

    D) Good challenge.

    E) Loan market doesn't.

    F) We don't have a chairman.

    so in your opinion it is the ideal job and managers of a "championship" standard will be knocking on the door tomorrow morning?

    There will be an applicants list as long as Pats arm.......its a win ,win situation,everyone expects us to struggle and go down,if the new boss keeps us up,he's a success,if we go down,not his fault its the players he inherited.......sounds familiar....

    CORRECT. We should be an appealing job to take on for out of work managers of championship level. We run in the black, have a decent stadium, second tier football, an owner who would back him and excellent youth facilities. Why would nobody decent want that? Ya talking like we will end up with Mark Wright or Ronnie Moore as manager.

    Its a decent job

    And I think there will be a realistic choice of managers

    Point A in particular Davey was given 3 years and reasonable funding - and no interference from the board on who to sign and what team to pick

    Whether Curbishley or Coppell would be interested is depateable but we will have some options thats for sure

    there'll be applications coming in already. names that you never even thought of will get mentioned just as they always do. Personally I'd try for Coppell he's been there done it on more than one occasion. Will he come? Only he knows

    you're right, we have a lovely shiny stadium (on 3 sides), a bank balance without a minus sign in front of it (dented slightly with davey's pay off), we are in the championship, excellent youth facilities (with no academy trainin in them!!) and a chairman who'll back him (for the first 5 games anyway).

    but your point is backed up in the first sentence "out of work" managers of championship level. some are out of work for a reason the rest we can't afford.

    All those managers since Premeirship.........and only one manager has survived BFC.........Paul Hart

    ............all the rest have drifted out of the game or ended up scrubbing the changing room floors at whatever club they have found themselves at

    Good managers will only come to BFC if we have.......... MONEY............

    ...........and although our chairman has got more money than probably all the rest of us put together he aint a wealthy man in football terms

    So dont expect Coppell and the like to be knocking on the door of Barnsley Football Club

    not 100% true, how do you know????

    Good challenge for somebody, taking a team from the bottom. Coppell never managed at a really big side so why do you think money is his motivation??
