Middlesborough keeper Ross Turnbull, who was due to spend three months on loan with the Latics, has returned to The Riverside Stadium. The U-turn has come about after boss Ronnie Moore decided the move would not be practical after all. In initial talks with Boro it was hoped to come to a deal that would see the player stay at Boundary Park until the end of December with the possibility of extending it to the end of the season when the January transfer window opened. However, Boro would only agree to a three month deal and also did not want 20-year-old Turnbull to appear in cup competitions.
