<p class="big">Rotherham are to name their new manager at a press conference on Friday. </p> Alan Knill paid the price for a series of poor results when he was sacked at the start of March, and Mark Robins was placed in caretaker charge. </p> The Millers have won three and lost three of Robins' six games at the helm, and the former Manchester United striker is in the running to land the post on a permanent basis. </p> However, the Rotherham board are believed to have spoken to around 13 applicants for the job, including Brian Little, Brian McClair, Martin Scott, Keith Alexander and Brian Horton. </p> Rotherham, who face Gillingham at home on Saturday, are currently nine points from safety in League One. </p>
