Anybody know where Rotherham are getting all this money from? Forgive my ignorance.

Have they had some mysterious investor, or are they doing a Portsmouth?

I believe in fairies, the Easter bunny, and Keith Hill.

Their chairman has quite a few bob and appears to be very ambitious.

Isn't the owner a multimillionaire? Made his money from scrap metal.

    I was under the impression

That in League 2 the annual wage bill had to be under a specific percentage of the club's turnover (60%?). This was to help clubs stand on their own two feet, rather than become dependent on the generosity of a wealthy financial backer. Rotherham have an exceptionally poor recent record with regards to financial mismanagement, before present chairman Tony Stewart took over. Hopefully, they won't repeat past mistakes.

    Personal wealth

Does not equate to monies being available to a club, nor is it indicative to the ambitions of any particular individual. That's, of course, assuming any figures of personal wealth are true and accurate.

Re: I was under the impression

Can't see them making past mistakes. With a new ground around the corner they will be making more money than ever with advertising, corporate etc. Even more than when in the championship i'd imagine. K.O will be on a good wage to drop a league as player of the year, but Nards wouldn't have taken much presuading to leave Exeter. We will have to see if they spend much on transfer fees or keep getting freebies.

That's twice that's happened on the same thread.

First message I posted was a reply to Mario Kempes and the second to Gordon Owen. Yet neither were positioned correctly. I'd made certain I was replying appropriately, so does this mean there's a gremlin with the BBS?

    Re: Personal wealth

It all depends on how much of their personal fortune they wish to invest, the Pikeys at one point had a board of directors that had a personal fortune of over £750 million, only John Ryan wanted to put anything over £5 million in, the richest had very deep pockets.

There's not much profit to be made in football.

    I agree with you

But it's interesting reading that some of their fans are voicing the same concerns.

    Correct

Hopefully, there'll be no long term problems associated with any short term financial speculations made by Rotherham.

All this money for what? They've hardly signed Lionel Messi. KO and Nads are two failed Legaue 1 players who'll be on peanuts.

I think Rotherham will go up, looking to go for it.

The former ownder was, Ken Booth. New owner, Tony Stewart has made his brass from a company called ASD Lighting, in Rotherham.
