Very tenuous link, almost as bad as the Chris Moyles Stadium... Love the song reference though

I agree mate, assuming it's completed

And has it's safety certificate. Unfortunately, I'll be in a trench somewhere with a trowel in my hand, surrounded by quite a number of girls from university. It's a hard life, but I'm prepared to shoulder the responsibility.

I can see the publicity from people Google searching New York and millions of people worldwide finding out about Rotherham United who they would have never heard of before.

I'd have called it New Millmoor though :)

Do you really think that searching for New York will bring up any results for Rotherham on the first few pages? If thats the plan then they may as well call it the Britney Spears stadium because it will have as much success

Excellent name for a stadium in my opinion

And there appears to be good historical reasons for choosing it.

    Good luck to 'em.

Could be named after the home of York City and not the one in USA, in which case there are aspirations are very low.

That area of Rotherham is shown as New York on maps...
