Just one of the threads on here. I could have picked dozens of them. http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?231475-So-proud-of-the-lads-tonight-I-could-weep Now I'm not pretending it's not crap now, and I'm not defending anyone. I'm as upset as the next fan about what's happening. What I am saying is that 10 weeks is a long time in football. Let's not get carried away saying we're doomed to the Conference. There is so much that can, and will inevitably happen. I assume that there will be changes. Yes fans should voice their displeasure, but let's have a bit of perspective.
Is that the last time we played well? I cant think of a match since where I think we played anything like decent? Although they all have seemed to blend into one over the last few weeks !
What you are saying is correct. Ten weeks from now in the middle of January we could be safely in mid-table or looking very much doomed. My feeling.now is that with Johnson in charge the situation is far more likely to be the latter. I'd give him next week and if we lose then his position should surely be untenable. However, nothing is guaranteed. Apart from the fact that in mid-January I'll be in Thailand, so if the doomsday scenario does play out I'll be psychologically better placed to deal with it than most on here!
Wasn't that the Everton game? I don't think we can cling to that, not when almost every league game, including the one's we've won, have been very poor.
If we wait until mid to late January and we are still where we are now, with the final transfer window about ready to close and the same man in charge then we are just about done for.
I agree, what I'm saying is that no-one at that point exepcted us to go on a 7 defeats in a row run, did they? Or for us to be in the bottom 2? I'm just pointing out that things can change rapidly/ They can change again.
It was a fantastic one off game against a side that let us play. Yet picked us off very easily. We will need a dozen of those performances to stay up
I remember Johnson being interviewed and being asked whether he was going to sign up the loan players permanently. I think he said something like, a few games are a long time in football, we may lose the next 4 and want to get rid of them all. Be careful what you wish for!
You're missing my point. It's not about whether we played well, or not. It's about the fact that not long ago, we were proud, and in a reasonable position. All I'm pointing out is that 1 month has caused absolute havoc, yet there are 6 months and 90 points left to play for. Alot can change. I'm not naive enough or optimistic enough to think it will change if we keep doing the same thing. But there is so much that cous happen in the next 6 months.
