Re: Same here But you are happy with a striker that has not scored anywhere near the amount of goals that ALF has in the same league! Why?
Micheal Owen is hardly a big lad, but he has certainly scored plenty of goals at every level. Davies is not doing enough though is he, that is why he was dropped and Haynes was not, so I think your logic may be flawed.
at some stage someone will have to take a chance on him, and i think if a club who is not going to be dependent on him doing the biz take that chance in say January when they are already safe ish and can give him a run of 7or8 games without too much resting on his shoulders he could be decent. but that clubs not us
they tried something different thats all. the club dont have to sell anyone but will only sell players that arent good enough. keith hill very words.
I reckon Davies has been doing alright, it may take him time to get fully up to the pace of this league but I haven't seen anything to suggest that he can't get there. I thought Hill took the wrong player out of the team when he rested Davies, but he had seen something specific on Prozone that Davies was allegedly not doing. So he took him out, worked on it and he is back in now. I think he will be ok.
No they didn`t they dropped Davies because according to Mr Hill he was not up to scratch on the stupid stats thingy!
I'm prepared to be proved wrong but Le Fondre would be a massive gamble at this level Davies cost us nothing except a wage, splashing out anymore than 150k on Le Fondre would be madness, too slow, too small, can't jump, not strong enough, fair enough he can outwit the half-arsed marking in the box in league 2, big whoop.
Re: I'm prepared to be proved wrong but Le Fondre would be a massive gamble at this l Tend to agree with some of that. He stands out in league two against league two defenders but championship defenders are a massive step up. He'd be a gamble but if we can get him for around 350k I'd take a gamble.
