never met Don Rowing - how old is the guy - this talk of corporal punishment sounded like my old (late)grandfather's 'cure-all' for society's problems.
Surely birching was stopped befor the end of World War 2.

    Even so

How many people here would have been gutted if they had got birched? I wouldn't have lost any sleep. Birch away for all I care. Apparently, if the birching is done by a tall leggy blonde in leather, it's not so bad at all. That's what my mate Max told me.

They still do it here in Malaysia

Its called the Rotan but its reseved for more serious offences such as rape

They also have the Death penalty for murder and drug smuggling

And positive discrimination in favour of the local Malays

Some of our regular posters would just love it here

There are a few serious drawbacks though

Under the story about a paedo rapist sentenced to 10 years and 6 strikes of the rotan there was another one of someone being arrested for having porn clips on his PC

compared to Somalia where adulterers are stoned to death it sounds quite civilised in Malaysia!

I heard that Mogadishu MBC were trying to organise a gay parade

I wonder how that went down?

Doubt it mate -- too much fighting, killing, pirating and corruption going on in Mogadishu.
(see you at next years parade!)

    It is quite civilised

The somali case is an outrage - as for delaying the execution of the girl until after she has the kid I dont know whether to laugh or cry

So the kid will be brought up an orphan forced to be a mulim believing in Allah the merciful - knowing the penalty for apostocy is death so not able to reject a God who had both his/her parents killed for having him

    Makes me sick

I can quite understand the many Muslims in the U.K. who do not want Sharia Law introduced here.
