He needs to drop his negative tactics. Watching us draw or sneak a win by one goal when we do win is soon going to get dull. At least under Sven/Fabio we could beat teams by a couple of goals.

Fell foul of the picking the "star" player syndrome

When will England managers learn to drop star players when they are not in form? Time and time again we have seen it happen. It was blatantly obvious in the last game that Rooney wasnt at the races, so why pick him again?

Of equal importance, how the hell has Rooney managed to get himself so out of shape and form in just 5 weeks?

You do know he is in the top 3 players in the World, ask H/T ! Rooney has won loads of medals so therefore he is brilliant every match, the stats prove it.

Second that Mario, deserves far far better than the nightmare he has surely inherited, both in terms of the playing squad and their accompanying egos/'advisers', and the various key FA/Premier League figures he's going to have to deal with regularly from here on in.

Correct it's all about medals. Just imagine how far we could have gone if we'd have had a player with the breathtaking talent of David Batty available.

Nadal, federer and djokovic are much better. Now many grand slams has Rooney won?

Bjorn Borg says Rooney isnt it to lace tim henmans pumps

Amir Khan was on earlier saying how good his team were, I reckon he will be the new striker we need.

0-0 AET out on penalties - he goes out with head held high - reputation intact ..... attack the Italians, and we would probably have been heavily defeated - cue red top Turnip headlines ... pick an option?

Agree entirely. Rooney and Young were clearly not on form and should have been dropped / been replaced during the game as they were just not performing. I am normally a fan of Rooney (there, Ive said it - queue endless slaughtering from some on here) but I thought he was hopeless and very out of shape. He needs to lose 10-12lbs at least.

You just dont understand, he has won loads of medals, so therefore he is always fantastic, like Terry, Cole, Gerrard, etc etc.

Oops, forgot - sorry. He MUST be picked every time, because he plays for Man Utd and therefore must be in the team. I won't make the same mistake again in criticising him. Even if he is overweight and out of form.
