Already said he would allow Garvan, Quinn and Stead to leave.........

Not bothered about Thatcher, way past his best..... McAuley however, could be decent aquisition. He was club captain last season, and this but has just been stripped of the arm band after getting sent of in last game.

We have an abundance of midfielders so quinn and Garvan not for me, but IMO Jon Stead would be a quality signing.....

    Isn't McAuley the ex-Leicester player?

About the same speed as Darren Moore. And Thatcher is a thug.

Think Kozluk is the loose cannon left back we got already. With Gray in now don't want Thatcher too IMHO.

We starting to gradually build a squad but only got one or two area of competition at the moment and that is midfield in the middle. Whoever Robins brings in I will have more confidence that the ones I saw Davey got signed.

I'd not mind McAuley - a good bet at this level.

But Thatcher is a dirty, nasty piece of work. I'd rather have Kozluk.

    Actually, he didn't.

He said he wasn't bothered about him.

So the title didn't suggest his name then?

    No, didn't think so...

    Jesus wept.

It 'said' his name. He didn't suggest to anyone that he recommended Thatcher.

In fact, he even said 'Any of em worth a look?'...

    That's a question, not a suggestion.

And then, in the actual post, he said 'I've never been too bothered about Thatcher'...

    Jesus wept.

    :)

Macauley has been horrendous for ipswich so far this season, i suppose players do seem to pick up form with a change of club though, I wouldn't go for him

McAuley definitely worth a look - good skipper for Leicester & Ipswich

And a central defender, which would allow a back four of Foster Moore McAuley Gray. Looks better already, doesn't it? I think McAuley just fell out with Keane. Had a poor first match at Coventry and didn't attack the ball on one occasion, which allowed Coventry to score. I think Keane had decided McAuley's future there and then. He wasn't in the team for the next game and probably only played at the weekend because others were not fit. Keane's 'slash and burn' style of management.

I would take a good look. If he can be acquired for less than £500k (I think he cost at least a million) then he would be worth it.
