    Wow.

Knowing Ben I know he'll have worked very hard.

So much for the "exams are so easy these days brigade".

The pressure was on us to pass our exams ('O' levels) the kids these days have pressure on them to get A grades.

at Barnsley college it 4.5 hours per subject

and your son ben ( i presume he's your son) didn't get 10 passes he got 12 passes D E F and G are not fails I do not know why people see these as fails a U is a fail I think its because schools put you under so much pressure to get at least C's everyone thinks a D is a fail

Colleges usually say you need C grades

to be accepted onto A level courses.

RE: Colleges usually say you need C grades

oh to be accepted onto A level courses you do at least 5 A-C and 1 has to be Englsih or maths but 6 A levels? at Barnsley college they onli let u do 4 A levels if you get at least 3 B's and they will let u do 5 if u get exceptional grades but not 6! thats too much work surely

Goes back to the O level system

where A-C were 'passes' and below was a fail.

If you wanna do A levels you HAVE to have at least 5 A-C.

GCSEs are a politically correct way of failing no one

Thats what he's starting at AS level

having been 'Gifted & Talented' since he was 10 he was expected to get exceptional grades but blew it being bone idle and not giving his best to the coursework. He's upset cos he's let himself down

Anyway he's not going to Barnsley College he's going to Shelley High 6th Form. I'm sure he'll drop at least 1 subject after AS level when he's decided between reading for the Bar or doing Sports Science to be an sports analyst.

He he I bet he chooses somert completely different in the end
