a mate of mine went to the hudd'field/scunny match the other day, hudds 2nd goal was scored into time added on but after the goal was scored the ref blew for full time, raising the point that i thought, that as soon as the ball crossed the line the game was deemed dead and that would have to be re-started by a kick-off, any thoughts on this (chinny)

There's no rule as far as I know, the ref can blow at any time.

Common sense would suggest that the ref should allow a kick-off to take place, otherwise there can be confusion as to whether he's allowed the goal.

But when did refs ever use common sense?

Barnsley v Cardiff in cup int late sixties Johnny Evans scored ref blew whistle whilst the ball was crossing the line.

Had to find out on radio on way home if ref had allowed it or not.

He did game over 1-1 lost replay though.
