Rumours of yesteyear down the 'well....

Come on you lot. You must surely have an inkling of summat or other. Back in the heyday of around 80/81 there was a rumour going round the King Ronnie was shagging Bobby Horn's wife.... In fact, there was an article in one paper that reckoned that sort of stuff was rife at Oakwell that year. maybe a scheme to unhinge our brilliant team?? mmmm? Anyhow; apparently Ronnie Glavin was knobbing a few particular females - if you beileved the rumours that is.

I seem to recall another regarding the 88/89 or 89/90 squad and a story doing the rounds regarding a stripper in a hostelry on the outskirts of town *wink, wink*

John Deehan v Malcom Shotton

Cup game at Bramall Lane - Ended with Deehan getting a cracking shiner! Apparently Deehan had told Big Mal that no player's wives were allowed on the team coach, only to get his mrs on board (this was the 2-2 Cup game). Shotton did his B*ll*cks and twitted Deehan...... Next home game me an dmy mate shouted Deehan over and pulled his leg about it. he wasn't best amused and muttered summat about 'cnuts' as he went away with the hump on. We laughed.... I was never struck on Deehan.

I heard that part of the reason why Ashley Ward left.......

....was that he was banging Darren Barnards missus. I also heard that David Currie was gay, but I'm less convinced about that one.

 

Oldham away, mid 1980's….there'd been rumours of Derrick Parker shagging one of the players wives, he'd been sold to Oldham and at the end of a particularly tedious game Mick McCarthy (I think) decked him near the dugouts.

 

A rather large goalkeeper we had a few years ago was partial to visiting a brothel in Leeds along with some of the other first teamers. That's according to my brother - in - law who drove them there!
