With the Forest game still 10 days away, surely it would be a good idea for the fringe 1st teamers to play for the reserves tomorrow night at Huddersfield. For the likes of Devaney, Rigters, Steele etc it's got to be of benefit. You can train as much as you want but there is no substitute for "match" fitness.
If Muller was injured in the Forest game, Steele has to step in having not saved a shot in anger since his last game nearly 6 months ago.
Huddersfield Reserves are unbeaten this season and top of the league so it would be a decent run out for them.

Muller wasn't injured in the Forest game

Least he wasn't when I saw him after....

I would start Steele, El Hammy, Souza, Butterfield, Leon, Disco, Rigters & KO! Be good to have a proper RESERVE team out rather than kids!

These kids need to play more for the u18s until they are bigger/older!

Disco & Steele must be desperate for 90 mins!!

I agree. The scholars did well at home against a strong Bradford City reserve team with just Butterfield, Heslop and Leon (for 60 mins)playing for us.
But I'm sure that the better scholars would benefit from playing in a team with more experienced players and as you suggest, the pros would benefit from 90 minutes of competitive football.

Didn't Know We Were At The Funny Farm Tomorrow Night

If it's a decent enough team of fringe players I will pop along. Not bothered about going if it's academy kids ready for a tonking.

Strong reserve team for the game at Huddersfield tonight

There are 8 pros in the team for the game tonight. Steele, Van Homoet, Souza, Devaney, Butterfield, Heslop, Rigters, and KO plus 1 first year and 2 second year scholars. Maybe worth a look!
