    I don't think so. The world is a very different place now.

    Most likely the Russians will support Kurdish rebels in Turkey.

    NATO and the nuclear deterrent is too strong for an egotistical maniac like Putin to do anything stupid. Russia rely on the fact they never go "too far". Although the atrocities they have carried out, and allowed to be carried out in Syria for me are a step to far already.

    Prepare for oil supplies to be shut off from Turkey. For exports to be banned. For a lot of gesturing and posturing from Russia. Then it will all be brushed under the carpet and forgotten.

    In no way detracting from the sympathy I have that another innocent life has been lost in that brutal part of the world.
