They will probably still qualify for 2016 with it being 24 teams. Good they have been punished though.

 

I'm never sure that punishing a team in this was is the best way to deal with violence. Many of the numb-nuts who get involved in violence won't be put off from further trouble but the majority of decent fans and the team still suffer.

 

I thought the points deduction was suspended, so will only come into play if they commit another offence.

I recall British teams being excluded from europe after the Heyshall stadium affair(for 5 seasons I think?). So why not punish the Russians that way.
