Now I understand that they're trying not to encourage the idiots, but having listened to the Radio Five Live commentary this afternoon it's strangely annoying to hear the BBC now talking about how McGinley decided to offer the halved match "after some consideration" (from the TV highlights) or "McGinley could have won on the 18th but with Europe celebrating victory, sportingly agreed a half with Henry 15 feet away." (from the web site). What happened was disgraceful and despite McGinley's great sportsmanship I think a better purpose would be served by making clear that the idiot cost Europe half a point and McGinley the chance of an almost certain win in front of a home crowd.
bit harsh on the lad ! europe had won , job done.... pick up and walk off, gets to the bar quicker that way !
RE: I think you may have misread my post on second reading ... i appear to have misread ... although your post doesnt actually mention a streaker so i must be absolved of some blame !! )
RE: I think you may have misread my post Not quite sure why I complained about his non-reporting by not mentioning him. Rather undermines my point, in retrospect.
Why is it Rest of the time loads of people don't want anything thing to do with Europe, abhor the idea of the EU, think we should leave them to it, "I'm English not European!" - yet put a few multi-millionaires competing as Europe and everyone is right behind them!
RE: Why is it Perhaps, sport can deliver racial harmony far more effectively than all the politicians put together, look how cosmopolitan our national teams are, whether Cricket, Football or whatever, the Ryder Cup brings together a host of different nationalities, working together for a common purpose, and in the process, giving us a fabulous spectacle, don't knock it pal, it works.
RE: Why is it Because the golfers aren't unelected beaurucrats (sp, ffs) imposing laws and regulations on us.
