Every now and again I see threads on here about S,D player management skills but all I've ever heard from the players is positives and praise from the players. Steele,I have no problem with the manager ,he knows I want to be number one and I would love to stay with the club. Hassell,Delighted to have signed a new contract the manager has made me into a better player, Kozluk,As players we have to take some of the blame,the manager prepares us once on the pitch it is down to us.I would love to stay at the club. JCR,Really happy to sign a new contract,the manager as made me into a better more complete player.(a comment also endorsed by John Barnes) Deveany,Glad my contracts been sorted ,I had offers from other clubs but I'm so happy working here. Hammell,I've enjoyed my time at Barnsley they're a great bunch of lads and a great manager and if things don't work out at Liverpool I would be more than happy to come back to Oakwell. etc,etc I think when results aren't going our way fans seem to look for something that isn't there,even Mr Cryne as mentioned the togetherness of the players and manager. I don't know what will happen whether S.D stays or goes I'll leave that in the hands of Cryne (I support the club not any particular manager)but I think theres more than enough evidence that that the players are totally behind Simon Davey.
Kay didn't say positives about him Steele said negatives about him (i want to leave, the manager wont play me etc). Christensen certainly said negative things about him.
read my earlier post. most players at a club aern't going to say the manager's ***** and we need to get rid. they'd be out quicker than their feet would hit the floor. ask the players the same question when/if he's been removed. you may get a different answer.
Kay was bombed out for pretty obvious reasons so he isn't going to praise Davey,Steele I only copied what he said,as for Chistianson you should have heard P.Crynes comments about him and even a cynic like you (SuperTyke) would have got shut.
I'd have kept him as he looked a much better striker than the rubbish that almost saw us relegated again. Also what was the obvious reason kay got binned?
Well you can only play 11 at any one time,but I recall when SD dropped Bobby Hassell Bobby himself said it gave him the kick up the backside he needed and he came back more focused.Indeed it seems a good ploy player of the year etc.
