It was on cards after City set on a new manager, won at Brentford and tonight was his first home game.Us meanwhile have a disaster on saturday have to re-shuffle to accomadate the loss of 3 first teamers, result = the score from ashton gate.Shouldn't be too surprised, although 3-0 at halftime is crap,i expected to lose maybe 2-0 tonight.

    Positives

Before saturday this team had took 7 points from 9, 4 of which came on road.We aren't a bad side, not mid table and certainly not relegation fodder as some suggest everytime we don't win.The following steps are needed

    1) Sign a centre half NOW on loan for least 3 months(transfer rules pending) whether he be towards end of his career or a youngster from Championship/Prem.

    2) Start with Nardiello and Hayes from now on,can't knock Conlon's effort, but him and Hayes can't play together, that much is evident. We moved heaven and earth by all accounts to get Nardy here, now PLAY HIM.How can Hayes form a partnership if Nads is getting 20mins at end of every game?

    3) Spend at least 2 hours a day with Shuker & Disco perfecting their crossing/decision making. These two need to be putting chances on a plate for our forwards every game,if they miss em they miss em,but the service needs to be there.

    4) Try a different formation on training ground that can be used away from home at tougher places, say 4-5-1.I know this might seem negative, but battling for a point is better than playing a predictable formation and losing heavily like tonight and at Swansea.

We are taking 1 step forward and two steps back so far,we now need to beat Oldham on saturday and look to get at least something from the Rotherham game to get back up near a play-off place. We need to start to put a consitent run together,no point winning 2 and drawing 1 if we then lose next 2 matches.

I know the above is pretty obvious to all who read it,but i honestly don't believe we are a million miles off from being around 6th place come next may.

Howard is just about back,Kell is training. We just need to get that winning mentality.

You're not telling me Southend,Brentford & Scunny have got a better squad than us

Come on you reds this league is wide open, make an impact.

Plenty of sense there, but we can't bloody score in a nutshell.

    Good Man!

    and well put....

I have been looking at the table, also, and I came to the same conclusion... Brentford? Scunny? Swansea? gimme a break! We don't look better than them right now, but we we will soon. Maybe Forest will come good this year.

Yep, top two BFC and Forest.

We won't be top 2 Mick

We're really not good enough. Personally I don't think we'll make the play-offs either, but it's a very ordinary division so I wouldn't say it's beyond us. With a full strength team out we're OK, not brilliant but alright for this division. Problem is we can't put that team out very often due to some key players being injury prone and we've little strength in depth. Goals are starting to look a problem to come by too. We've very few players with goals in them.

    if we got promoted

it would be really embarrasing the next season, we wouldn't win a game

If we got promoted we'd invest in the side

But I don't think that is going to be something we have to dwell on for too long.
