I'm wavering - as ever with this manager. I've never been so torn before. After Blackpool, Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Ipswich I'd have certainly got rid. It seems that whenever his job is on the line, he pulls something out of the bag. The football is much, much worse than when he took over, though - and by our standards he's had very generous backing. The absolute dross we've served up most weeks at home - Cardiff, Ipswich, Southampton, Coventry, yesterday - make it easy to understand why patience is wearing extremely thin.
RE: That's 28 folk who deserve to watch League 1 ***** next season It beggers belief that people want this clown to stay.
I've supported Davey for the past few seasons, but I have got to say, it's time to go now. We're no longer making any progress.
Totally agree. I've backed him so long, but after having seen no progress I have given up on him now. He has brought in some very good players tbh, unfortunately he has no idea how to manage them.
I just think that it's too late in the season to sack him, who will we bring in, someone with no experience again and we'll not get another point the rest of the season, if we keep Davey till the end of the season we'll have a better chance of staying up IMHO. Sack him in June.
Those Who Want Him Sacked......... are obviously prepared to pay off just under three years that are left on Daveys contract, pay off his coaching staff, pay compensation to bring in a completely new managerial team and make up the shortfall if the new manager wants to sell players Davey as brought in at a loss
RE: I just think He's been lucky in keeping us up the last two seasons, he won't do it a third time. We have a lot of talent on the pitch screaming out for direction and Davey does not have a clue how to give it. Get rid now to give us a fighting chance
RE: Those Who Want Him Sacked......... I don't profess to know who would need to be "paid off." I don't even know what a compensation payment to bring in a new managerial team is. I'm not privvy to the agreement that will be made with the incoming manager re the existing squad. I'm absolutely certain that relegation would cost us more thanchanging managers.

No one on here knows what contractual obligations Need to be met if Simon Davey & his backroom staff were to be removed. To try and claim otherwise would, at best, be conjecture and worse, a bare faced lie.
Move him to oneside...and get a coach...who can coach... Davy has brought good players.. but is tactically useless... Free Images
These polls are completly pointless................. but I suppose it keeps the mupetts on here entertained. Fact - Simon Davey is going nowhere and his job at BFC has never been in danger. Pat Cryne is the man who is paying the piper and he isn't going to sack anyone. If Daveys job had ever been in danger why did Pat phone Mrs Davey to reassure her Simon was not going to be sacked the last time his job was reported to be in danger? There are too many on here who think World Class managers are lined up outside Pats office waiting for him to give Simon the sack. They are not. We are a small provincial club with no money and few fans. We don't have a rich Russia or Arab backing us. We have picked up 4 out of the last 6 points. If you are not happy with that then you are only going to be happy if we win the Champions League.
I can't see Davey leaving on the cheap with so long to do on his contract. Now if he was to resign that would be different....Not gonna happen though.
How is it pointless? He's simply asking people's opinions on whether they'd keep him or sack him. Obviously, it won't have an affect on Davey's job but he's only asking who would keep him. How dare they discuss football on a Barnsley FC bulletin board though.
"Fact - Simon Davey is going nowhere and his job at BFC has never been in danger" You have absolutely no way of knowing that. "Pat Cryne is the man who is paying the piper and he isn't going to sack anyone." Again, you have no way of knowing that. As a business man I would imagine Mr Cryne has sacked many people in his time. As it happens I don't want Mr Davey sacked, but I have no idea what Mr Cryne thinks about the situation.
RE: No one on here knows what contractual obligations
If the contract of Steve Parkin was anything to go by the pay off is 12 months wages.
These figures were reported in the press at the time. I seem to remember he had to take the club to Court to get it.
