or at least not yet!

I really cannot understand where all of this Davey out mob have come from.......? infact the hostile atmosphere towards coaching staff and the players this season....

At the home game vs Derby I have never witnessed so much abuse of home players! even before kick off..... I've got to say I was embarressed to be a Barnsley fan! I've seen some crap performance, and players, and managers over the years..... it wasn't a good performance against Derby no, but what can you expect when the home fans are on your back even before kick-off! I reckon you must be the missing Sheff Wed season ticket holders..... mixed with the same fickel group of fans who boo'ed Michael Chopra and said he was no good!

Lets get back to reality shall we! and get behind the boys!!!!

I would like to make the following points/opinions

1. We are at best a mid-table Championship side.
2. We have only played 5 league games so far, of which only 2 were at home.
3. And of the 3 away games we have played we faced two of the title favourites i.e. QPR & Birmingham.
4. Our Chairman said he would make sigificant funds available. Significant they may they cannot match the purse strings of most Championship clubs e.g. Birmingham, QPR, Wolves, Sheff U, Derby etc
5. We have injuries to key players such as Muller & Anderson. All of whom are making good progress and don't look to far away from first team action.
6. SD signed Colace as cover for Anderson, and has been unlucky with paperwork / red tape delays.
7. Further injuries to JCR & Rigters, both flair players who would frighten most defences (Rigters has a youth international level anyways).
8. Discipline of the players i.e. Van Homeot's red card challenge vs QPR is not SD's fault, nor penalty's we giften other teams.
9. I personally feel getting rid of Ferenczi was a mistake or at least not replace him, as we no longer have a big target man. But then again SD was probably influenced by the boo boys who slated Stan last season.
10. Finally the season is still young. If you remember Palace were bottom of the league this time last season and Scunny were top....... did it end up that way? NO! the old phrase its a marathon not a sprint spring to mind! so lets get behind the lads!!!

Good post!!

I am one of the many Davey haters but i accept the fact that Davey is going nowhere so soon, so we have to get behind em instead of getting on their backs!!!

None of my replies are meant to be "clever" or taking the piss. But...

RE: Sacking Davey not an option...........yes it is

Despite all your points some of which are good ones the fact of the matter is we haven’t been good enough since we played Watford away last season.

1 Davey has had time in the close season to identify the teams weak areas and sign players (i.e. a left back) and has failed to do this

2 He constantly plays players out of position to try and disguise the teams failings(Bobby Hassel playing at CM when everyone apart from Davey could see he clearly can't play there)

3 His constant fecking excuses and stupid statements on the website "someone’s going to take a real battering soon"

4 Weird tactical decisions (playing long ball when we have 2 short guys upfront)

5 Persisting with Odejayi even though he’s ****

If we lose tommorow patrick has to get rid, simple as

Good post mate

Sunderland, Hull, Palace have all started slowly in recent seasons - now look at them. All doing pretty darn good.

and thing is sunderland, hull and palace were all expected to be challenging for promotion, were not, my opinion is it would be a really bad decision if we got rid of davey after 6 games.

If you remember last season what happend to make Palace go from bottom to the top 6?

I think you'll find they changed their manager. Probably not the best example to use to back up your case.
