I totally respect many people on here having the opinion that we should sack Keith. However, and I've said this before, I also think Patrick has done enough for this club for me to respect whatever decision he wants to make. If Patrick wants Keith to stay, then I support this. If he wants Keith to go, then fine. Like I say - I genuinely respect your opinions. Personally I don't really have one. I don't know enough about how the team operate, budget restrictions, relationships etc to have an informed opinion. I won't judge Keith but, eventually, I'm sure Patrick will. I've also never fingered an Otter.
Correct. Then it tried to bite me. I don't want to be the next Terry Nutkins, although my hair is pretty similar.
I agree. You wont find me shouting for hill's head. Its not my decision to make. I will come on here and moan like a biatch though.
Totally agree with that mate. I'm perhaps in the minority here but I think it is unfair to say he is a bad manager. Our crowds and budget dictate we should be bottom 3. We're bottom 3. Not too sure why anyone expects any better. I think there is a good manager in there with Keith hill and my gut instinct says stick with him. If we genuinely want to buck the trend and stick to a long term manager then we must have the courage and conviction to do it. I hope today is the start of a much brighter year and the faith that Patrick has so far shown is rewarded. How many fingers?
Budget doesn't cause him to play his weaker players and leave out his better players. Budget doesn't cause him to totally ignore HIS signings and continue to play players who are not good enough. Budget is nothing but an excuse
I think there's not too shabby a team there unfortunately Hill hasn't a clue what to do with it and how to set it up to make it difficult to beat if nothing else.
'Budget is nothing but an excuse'. Surely it's a lot more than an excuse though? If you have the budget to buy a quality striker, it can vastly alter the outcome of a game. If we had the budget to keep vaz the and butterfield we wouldn't be where we are I'm sure. Likewise if we had the budget to sign Norwood, Greer, hammill, Carayol..but we didn't. I very much doubt emile Sinclair was number one on his list. He has made errors with regards players and selections, but I think the difficulty of his task is often underestimated.
Although all the relevant data is not to hand, I think it's fair to say that it's a fact that Keith is working on a lower budget than a lot of the other championship clubs. So bringing finances in to the equation is not an excuse it's a genuine disadvantage. But there are two factors when you consider the budget: how much you've got and how well you use it. We've got a bigger squad and used more players than the majority of championship clubs, which suggests to me we are wasting a lot of our money by paying players who rarely get a game. I've heard it described as layering, but the reality is we're throwing money down the drain. I believe our smaller budget could have been far better utilised by signing quality over quantity. We do have a small budget but it has not been used well. In my opinion that is the pertinent point.
The main issue, as far as I can see: That was our last game of the year & it looks to most of us that Keith still doesn't know his best team. Layering is one thing. Chopping & changing every 2 minutes until nobody knows what they're doing is another. As I said - I'll stick with Patrick. Unless he gets sent down. He's on his own then.
I doubt Patrick knows what's going on. Sounds like he's a very ill man with frozen assets from what I gather. Doubt he has time to have any idea what's happening at Oakwell.
