is not a happy place to be. The fans on there are not delusional, they are normal down to earth supporters of their club and team and are having a really tough miserable time. Most, if not all, are level headed enough to work out what is going on and have nothing but abuse and ridicule for the owner. They are not Mork from Pitsmoor, any of them. I would not like to be in their situation right now, even though the club has brought this about by their total mismanagement. We can smile at their plight but by heck, I'm glad it's not us. I hope.
Zero sympathy for them. If it was us in the same situation they’d be taking p**s out of us big time. Once again f**k em.
They go on about 10 years of mismanagement but 2 years ago they were lapping it up when Chansiri himself was lifting the play off trophy at Wembley. Years and years we've had it rammed down our throats how massive they are and now look, its hilarious
I know plenty of Wednesday supporters and to a person they're all sound, and were magnanimous when they beat us in the final in 2023 and acknowledged they were bloody lucky. We all enjoy a laugh at their expense just as they do at ours, but I don't want to see supporters lose their football club. Hope the fraudulent **** is booted out.
They were fine chasing the dream spending 200k a week on half a dozen strikers and many other ridiculous things they did and didn't once speak up about their club spending too much. Get them restarted at the bottom of the pyramid like Rangers.
No sympathy from me. The sheer arrogance of their supporters holds no bounds! The reaction to us initially getting a bigger allocation at Wembley was hilarious, & now this is equally hilarious. You reap what you sow. They were lapping it up when they were fielding teams containing the likes of Foristieri, Gary Hooper, Stephen Fletcher etc etc the list goes on.
This thread could age very badly if our Directors stopped funding the club. Chansiri will sell soon. The money for Gassama helps his bargaining power but he’s not going to let the club fold as it would wipe out any equity value. A deal will be done and he will be consigned to history as the best/worst owner of Wednesday depending on your allegiance. Last accounts filed show Wednesday with a lower operating loss than BFC. People in glass houses springs to mind
Bankruptcy - definitely nothing I'd want to see. What's football without local rivalries? Granted, theirs are going to be with Denaby Utd, Hallam FC and Worksop Town for the foreseeable, but that's fine.
I hate the hyper hatred of modern day football. The if you aren’t on my side I must hate you. It’s a modern thing and not a good one. Reading how Shankley relied on Matt Busby for help and advice when he started at Liverpool. Can you imagine that now. football has changed and not for the better. For the record i am generally happy for any Yorkshire club to do well except when they play us and don’t want see any fans in the position that Wednesday are in. After all there for the grace of god etc. Social media has hyped up the hatred and given a voice to idiots in sport as it has in politics and it’s not a good thing
Depends what you mean by ‘ modern day football’ going back to the 70s it was always there. It is more obvious nowadays as you say with Social Media etc, but ‘hatred’ has always existed in football. Unlike you, there are certain Yorkshire clubs, I do not want to ‘do well’ simply because of their fan’s views/opinions of us. However, that isn’t hatred and I’m certainly not obsessive about it, just a wry smile when they lose
Do that if they get new owners willing to buy a new stadium for them, that's the only chance they've got new owners new stadium.there owner is just a joke, don't like em but like playing them, don't want any football team to go under for the fans and community wen things go well, ie us getting to prem.would u rather have fowls go under or top biggest 6 sides have there own super league with them never been able to play in our leagues again,no doubt some fowls supporters will be thinking there in both categories hahaha, good look to them but it should be a rangers job send them to bottom leagues.
Are you not saying all are of the same mind. Cos if you are, some of ours fit that bill, when bigging us up disrespectfully against smaller clubs, and would we like to be tarred with the same brush. Remember football fans, are hooligans. In the thoughts of many.
Me and a mate had evening jobs as glass collectors in a busy local pub in Bradford (Fiddlers Three), around 1980. Older fella who worked behind the bar was a renowned locally good footballer who, as a younger lad, had been an amateur at Hudds Town. When Bill Shankley took the Liverpool job, he wanted to take him with him and help build an empire. His Mum and Dad refused to let him go as they wanted him to finish his apprenticeship as a sparky.
We don't even like a player rolling around most of us anyway,I think the majority of our fans that want the fowls to go under haven't been to many matches between us both, loads will just follow social media,I'd hate to never play the fowls again, there's a difference in taking p.ss at Wembley to a club folding
Only time I will feel sorry for them is if they actually go under. But they're a fairly big club, so no chance it will happen.
you are mistaking the hooligan minority there for normal people. Again they were focused on but sensationalised. When I first started going to games in the 70s I often went to Leeds or Bradford or Halifax with my old man. Never thought anything of it. I get the wishing Ill of others your view is probably more prevalent than mine certainly now we live. In an age of “othering”.
