i get your point but this seems like a list of negatives. We had more possession after first 20 but they did more in their ‘on top’ period that we did in 3 times the duration. I felt they always had control of the game even allowing us possession.

Two of his shots looked like goals all the way. Unlucky in my opinion. If Cosgrove and Watters were better we would have won comfortably.

Bang on though, hard to pick any positives other than Russell looked good.

We're desperate for a player or two that can beat a man it gives a totally different dimension to us going forward, it's a real shame that we didn't have Jalo to call on tonight.

Bang on, exactly how I see it, teams go straight down our left time and time again drag Earl out then have midfield runners central, so easy so predictable.
352 has to stop, am not sure what the answer is without bringing in another 4/5 players to change it properly

Positives. Russell and Connell played well though Luca needs some shooting practice. Watters looked ok in parts but not like scoring. Roberts was pretty solid.

Clarke cost us the game by picking the wrong formation initially but he rectified it quickly.

    onwards and upwards.

I think tonight was on the cards - we played with 4 starters in Killip / o’keefe / Watters and cosgrove who werent deemed good enough to be regulars last season, and the bench was poor.

I don’t particularly blame the players, they’re just not good enough, I think a lot of fans think they’re not good enough, I wonder if the club does? Either they think they are going to somehow just come good or we just can’t afford to replace them, if it’s the latter then that’s that I’m afraid,

I can only think it must be the case as we’ve known since last Christmas we wouldn’t have any striker who we trusted and we knew all season the defence was awful - and we’ve started again by conceding 2 at home.

    it maybe a long season.

Depressing first half until the substitution. Utterly outplayed.

After that Mansfield were no longer in charge but didn't bust a gut to go beyond what they'd got and it became an even contest.

We did have enough chances to get something out of the game, but our finishing was terrible. Or at least terrible compared to theirs.

    Bad start to the season.

Add a striker or 2 and I think we'll compete well, we look so lacking in ability to take chances currently.

Only first game, I'd not read too much into it. Hopefully be stronger by end of the month. It's a long season.

It doesn’t matter how high the bar is set Cosgrove would fire over it.

Took wrong player off when he switched to a back four, should have been a CB off, probably Earl.

Think we could be in for another season of conceding plenty of goals we still just watch teams pass through us and don’t press well enough.
