Untill this changes the england job will never attract the top managers and we will be left with incompetent, pathetic excuses for a manager like ginger ****** mclaren.
Also, alot of posts have mentioned how over payed and over hyped our players are. This is true but not exclusive to english players, the italians, french, spaniards, brazilians, argentinians etc. etc. are all 'over-payed' why does i not affect them?
Italian press is far more vicious than ours. World cup winners, 2008 qualifiers, and a last minute winner against the jocks - we can but dream...
Interesting fact on 5 live this morning When discussing the fact that the croatians seemed to be able to pass and play football but we resorted to Campbell hoofing it up to Crouch was FA are hesitating to spend 50 million on a new national football acadamy, but happily spent almost 20 times that amount on the new Stadium - Not sure that an acadamy is the answer mind - what we really need is an exchange scheme where we send our young un's to Italy or Germany to learn the game perhaps?
Better coaching at younger levels.. when me and my dad were involved in youth football a few years back, Brooking tried to change things and bring in small sided matches and get this, smaller pitches, for smaller players. But the local FA's and clubs kicked up a stink because they want to win cups and leagues and also there is not enough small pitches available throughout the country. Lads under 18 playing on full size pitches breeds the whack it and chase it type of football that we see and fail with at international level.
RE: Better coaching at younger levels.. And every red-faced track suited bully masquerading as a 'coach' up and down the land choked on their lucozade sport at that.
