Sam Betts (non Footie)

I've just read of the passing of Sam Betts.Some of you older members might know him from his wrestling days.
He was to me an absolute gentle giant and a total gentle man.
I first saw him fight at Wombwell Baths in a tag match against the Pye brothers.I got to know him from delivering his newspaper and more so as I grew up.You could normally see him in the Keel down Stairfoot always had a big smile on his face.He now joins the other Barnsley wrestling brotherhood namely Jack Land,Ron Priestly and Pedro The Gypsy.
RIP Sam top man .

R.I.P. Sam. Used to have the newsagents on Farm Rd across from Kendray WMC in the early sixties and Jack Land lived about !00yds further down.Saw him regular at antique fairs in the last few years.
