Negative side - several premiership clubs are interested, including Aston Villa, so I can't see us getting a look in. Also, at only 18, he needs bringing on slowly and we would be unlikely to get the benefit at the higher level of Championship for another two years or more. I think he would be better going to a premiership-type club, who could bring him on slowly to realise his potential. Now just watch him sign for Southampton instead! Just worked out the deal .... I knew it was in there somewhere. Harry Redknapp buys Vokes for between £1-2 million and takes him to Portsmouth, at the same time giving excessive cash injection to his ailing former club, Bournemouth. He then immediately puts Vokes out on a season-long loan to Southampton, scoring the goals which keep Saints up for another season. Oh, yes! And the deal is done at dead of night in the back room of a pub in the New Forest! I knew I had got that bit right all along!
why would he loan a player to southampton, that would get all the pompy fans on his back, they love him because he got southampton relegated and then jumped ship and came to them
