It certainly is. Who'd have thought relegation would be so enjoyable?

NIGHTMARE did actually. He used to get hammered for it. If I remember right he actually wanted us to come down.

I thought relegation was the best thing too but then at the time I shared the home and away bug with him and by the end I'd just had enough of being hopeless every week.

relegation is only good if the eventual outcome is a good one for all concerned. If we became perennial L1 strugglers or mid table also rans that'd soon become as tedious and unbearable as the C'ship was.

I don't believe it will. Steady base, good folk in charge etc. it's the fear of the unknown sometimes. I'm already coming around to the fact it was a 'good' failure and needed to happen. I hope this comes true..............

Bigger Q is. If we do go back up?!? Will we start to be against the demons straight away that a lot of us were so glad to
    leave behind?!?

Getting beat most weeks and expecting to get beat most games was no fun now go to watcb us knowing we can beat any team in this league on our day and have astronger team then last year imo

I agree. But if we flew and got up this year. There's no way the team could survive in the Ccship IMHO. So we'd have to rebuild again?!? Just laikin devils advocate like

I think an immediate return would be difficult. We really need the impact of FFP to hit home and start to moderate the spending of others. We also need our young players in the team. We have to start filling 3/4 starting positions via the youth team if we are anywhere near competing in the Championship. Don't see this as pie in the sky we always managed it prior to going up last time so we should be able to again. I think Wilson has demonstrated in gud signing of Hourihane that there are real gems to be spotted in the lower leagues so there's hope there. I think we have to see it as year 1 in a 3/4 year project so my view is that promotion this season would definitely be premature.

I guess as well going to the natch should be about having fun and entertainment and there's been more of that in 15 games than the whole of last season.

Agree with that we would struggle if we had a immediate return (wouldnt mind been close though playoffs ect) with filling 3/4 positions with home grown youth problem there is soon as a player looks half the part we have always sold to the first bidder flinders, butterfield stones just hope we dont do same with bree

I reckon it's a 2-3 year one. I Think that's realistic. dependant upon loads of stuff like. If we fail yr 1+2 will the fans stick with DW? If we're doing well can we stay hold of Hourihan etc.

I'm hopeful of a quick return misen. Cos momentum is key! Worst thing that can happen???? Back to the (was) pub league

Yes it would be good to hold onto Bree. But it's not like the home grown lads have to be world beaters just decent solid pros. Joe Joyce, Paul Cross, Or freed by other teams then developed by us John Beresford, Mark Robinson etc.

    Year 1 consolidation
    Year 2 play offs
    year 3 champions

I guess I'm wary after the last 7 years of pretty abject misery of going up unprepared again.
