That 5 players in the division have a better goals per minute ratio on the pitch than he does. FIVE! He wants to get back to league 2. Along with Forestieri and Abrahams who are trailing behind him......#irony
Am I right in thinking our Sams strike ratio is something like 1 in 2 after today's brace? That's a decent return at any level. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
It was just 4 players earlier, until Chris Wood scored in the 4th minute of injury time. As a reminder, he also manages to hit the target with about half of his shots, and scores with half of those. That save from Davies too - outstanding, worth a clean sheet on its own.
Yes but Abraham is brilliant because he's on loan from Chelsea so by definition must be better Funny thing is that some argue against what Winnall brings to the team in terms of his overall play other than the goals he gets but if our game against Bristol City is anything to go by Abraham does very little other than stick the ball in the net (that's not a bad thing mind). Winnall's overall teamwork is actually very good and the goals he gets is a bit of a bonus
He's got something like 45 goals in about 110-ish games which is damn good. Especially considering he stepped up initially from League Two to One, then again up to the Championship, all in the space of just 2 and a half years
I was just referring to this season really. Missed start of season after getting injured at ipswich, so it's something like 7 in 14. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Whys that then? I want Winnall to score as much as anyone. Stupid comment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've criticised Sam in the past, all constructive I must point out, but his goalscoring record stands up against most other strikers outside of the top flight.
I posted a article a few days ago saying ipswich are set to come.back in january with a bid for watkins. Your response was "let's hope winnall is sold instead" that was a stupid comment.
No it wasn't. What I actually meant was of our out of contract players Id rather see Winnall go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think that Winnall misses quite a few chances that he should score. I think Winnall scores quite a few that shows he has more than a a bit of class. I think Winnall's build up play is often lacking. I think that LJ and his "rubberneck" efforts have not worked. I think Winnall is held back by a lack of pace. I think that Winnall really tries cos he comes back to get a touch of the ball rather than just hanging around up front. I think that he wouldn't keep getting picked if he wasn't worth his place.
Whether its this season or over his entire Barnsley career its still impressive and even though he's not the best footballer (which he isn't), he's a ruddy good striker and while sometimes he isn't great the amount of stick he gets is silly
