Trending on Twitor again for all the wrong reasons. This time for saying couples who have a downs syndrome child are selfish for not aborting the pregnancy because having such a child puts a strain on NHS resources. Silly woman.
Stupid blonde bitch. A ridiculous comment to come out with, me personally if my wife was to give birth to a down syndrome child I'd support them even more, some people in this world are just plain fecking stupid!
Silly woman who the Daily Mail f.cking love. There advertising revenues must go through the roof when they get her to write a piece.
Surely making comments like that on ****ter is as bad as some folk who racially abuse others?? Is not?
A similar scenario Ok, so using Down's Syndrome was always going to stir up some controversey. But how about we run the same scenario, but with a more severe disability or illness. Cystic fibrosis, spina bifida - I don't know, I'm no doctor. Something where both the kid and the parents would lead a pretty miserable life, in and out of hospital all the time, with no prospect of recovery. You find out early in the pregnancy and are offered a termination. Is it selfish to go ahead and have the baby?
Re: A similar scenario No - pooling resources to allow people the freedom to make choices that they may not personally be able to afford is part of living in a civilised society. I wouldn't blame the parents if they did want to have a termination, but I don't think they should have to feel guilty about relying on the state for support if they didn't.
Re: A similar scenario Why stop with Down's Syndrome? What about if people give birth to ginger haired babies? and so on and so on
She's an arsehole but this is no worse than the religious nut-jobs trying to control women's reproductive rights. Much larger problem than this attention-seeking bigot, too.
