I haven't watched many to be honest but last night was unreal. England should win but if they do Australia will hammer em.

Gutted, but you can’t make that many mistakes and expect to beat a quality team at that level.

Clueless at Golden point. If receiving ball first. be patient, Play safe to halfway line and kick it deep into opponents half .

Not sure how you can go from hammering the same team 60-6 to that performance today.

Got what they deserved sadly. I honestly thought they’d win the tournament.

The union side were much better at twickers than they were last week thankfully.

Alternated between bbc and Amazon for a bit. Never been that much of a league follower tbh, just never been able to properly get into it as a sport, I much prefer union. But given it was a World Cup semi I had to give it a look. They are better than Samoa on most days but just didn’t perform today.

Not a good day overall for English rugby in terms of world cups, the union girls have it their all but fell short too.

Hopefully the cricket lads do the business in the morning - though I suspect the only winner there will be the weather.

I think it's worse than that tbh Andy...admittedly I don't watch Super League very often but on what I've seen of this World Cup we've overpowered the also rans....but when you need quality elusive artists we don't seem to have any... certainly at half back...as it is we have an anonymous scrum half and a stand off whose only skills seems to be a choice of two options...a grubber kick to the corner or a high chip to the corner. No one who can run around his opposite number.
Had we had a Stevie Nash, Roger Millward, Rob Burrows at scrum half...a Dave Topliss, Jonathan Davies or any one of a dozen other good stand offs we would have taken Samoa to pieces.

The women RU played with 14 for most of the game though.

They took Samoa to pieces barely a few weeks ago.

    Just poor today.

Oh well, happy for Samoa that they're in their first final, they had their game tactics and battled hard. We really should have won though, we had our chances

More to it than that IMO Troff, we'd have lost to either of last night's sides...the problems run deeper than one poor performance, the fact that we haven't managed to win since 1972 in a three horse race probably tells a story.

Let's cut the ********, England were pathetic today and Shaun Wane should resign as head coach this evening. Wane had a reputation as a flat track bully when he was at Wigan Warriors and he doesn't seem to have changed his approach. Tactically he was lacking today, he should have focused more on training rather than bringing in all these guest speakers that he's been banging on about! I don't think the fella has got a clue!
He's been a bit like Flicker with jobs for the boys:
    - Michael Mcllorum awful.
    - Sam Tomkins (Wane's best mate) hasn't played well.
    - Kallum Watkins, thought he was playing for Samoa as he gifted them 2 tries through missed tackles and then embarrassingly failed to ground the ball when he should have pulled a try back. He's been playing in the centres for Salford but Wane switched his position.

To be honest, it may not be a bad thing we lost as Australia would have taken us to the cleaners in the final. Best of luck to Samoa, they were great today and played an exciting brand of rugby. They thoroughly deserved to win the game.
