Apparantly missed out on the Ipswich job to Magilton so would surely consider championship level. Does he fit Crynes portfolio?
Not according to BBC site He hasn't spoke to any clubs since the summer. Has made an agreement with the NIFA (Northern Irish FA or whatever they are) that he's allowed to speak to any club that seeks permision BUT if he takes a job he'll stay Northern Ireland manager until the qualifying programme is over. Would you accept him part time? Personally I would as I don't think there's as much scouting needed for a small nation like theres as oppose to Peter Taylor with the England Under 21's
If he's the one Gordon Shepherd , the board and Patrick Cryne want Then it'd have to be something they'd have to accept . Personally , I'd prefer someone that would commit himself to Barnsley Football Club 100% . I'm glad I don't have the responsibility when making the appointment.
When do the qualifiers finish? If the board showed faith in him with a 3 year contract, regardless of how this season ends, then I'd accept him combining both roles until the summer based on the way he comes across. Don't think he's the type of person who would ever be anything less than 100% committed to his job. Would probably be backed in the transfer market too.
If the board appoint him Then he'll get my full backing , as will any manager . However , there'll be a good number of fans who would use the dual role as a stick to beat him with if the results were to start going against us .
If he gets the job... then he could turn our season around like he did with Northern Ireland, he got sum wins with them!
