Just got back last night from a brilliant week away on the very scenic island of Santorini. If you like the weather HOT, and your idea of a good holiday is relaxing by (and in) the pool, admiring stunning girls in bikinis (the ratio was about 3 girls to each bloke), interspersed with a little exploring this is the location for you.

I went with a mate frum tarn and it was a proper right laugh. We explored the island on foot and using public transport which cost next to nothing 1E per bus ride. The views were amazing - I took about 300 photos throughout the week.

We even got adventurous and got a ferry to Ios which is even more scenic - in terms of beaches and babes!

In terms of nightlife, nice big open air bars, not too dear, a 500ml Amstel in Kamari (the resort where we stayed) varied in price from 2.5 to 4 Euros. Spirits seemed quite dear. In the back streets we were buying Mythos (local brew) for 1 Euro per can - in a 24 hour Taverna. There are a couple of nightclubs but we didn't bother with them because the bars stayed open until about 4am - we had a few balcony parties also (with the neighbours) which usually went on until 6 or 7 in the morning - and I was still by the poolside by 9am! (No wonder I'm knackered now).

I would recommend it to anyone who likes to go abroad to relax in stylish surroundings, but if you're after pubs called the Red Lion, with paintings of dogs playing snooker on the wall, and fish and chips - this is definitiely NOT the holiday for you.

Price wise even though it is the dearest greek island, I still found it much cheaper than anywhere else that I've been in Spain, France, Holland, and Portugal. I've even come back with unspent Euros - which is a first.

I liked it so much, I'm seriously considering going back on August Bank Holiday week.

I need to go rest my foot now as I managed to bash it on the last day which is a bit of a *******, I'm currently limping around like a man in orthopaedic shoes.

Hope you're all well, good to see that the board is growing!

    The End.

Mythos ain't bad as far as lager goes - I was drinking the draft/bottled stuff - I did have a couple of cans back at the apartment and it isn't as good (too fizzy for my liking!)

Isn't that the island where there was

A huge volcanic explosion about 1000 - 1500 BC ? It helped bring about the end of the Minoan civilisation and the first golden age of Ancient Greece ( Achaea ) . All that was left was a huge crater that was swamped by the on rushing sea . If there is one place I'd love to take The Boss on holiday , it'd be Santorini . Unfortunately , with all Laura's problems , it's never going to happen . You've made me extremely jealous buddy !!!:pff However , glad you enjoyed yourself .(Y)

Ayup mate, we stayed at Dimitris Apartments, Sigalas is about a five minute walk away - if I'm picturing the right place. Check out Dimitris if you get chance to have a wander - they are the only hotel to do authentic Greek dancing on Sunday and Wednesday night in the restaurant - you can watch while you eat. I cowered in the bar as they require audience participation!

Make sure that you WALK (don't get a taxi) up the zig zag road to see the ruins - the walk is spectacular, it takes about 75 mins up, and 45 mins back down again. Take plenty of water - and don't do it in the mid day sun like daft lad 'ere did.

    I'll post some photos later.

Spot on his record at getting up was about mid-day, and that was only because I told him that all the honey's were by the pool . Needless to say he stumbled down half asleep to have a good perv.

Quote of the week from him 'Natalie has a Brazilian, I noticed because her bikini bottoms were baggy'.:pff :D

Have a safe journey, remember it's the wrong side of the road when you've crossed the pond (lookout)

I quite liked it, it has a moremellow flavour than Amstel, Stella or Grolsch yet is roughly the same percent (5%).

Just spoke to him and told him about the free dig radio! I think he might be going to Swiathe club for the quiz later, he's at his Mum and Dad's at the minute downloading a chubby Brown song!
