I work in Vehicle Scheduling Systems at Jaguar

The system I work with is entirely in-house developed but is getting old now (1990), all the talk is of replacing it using SAP, particularly sicnce our new bosses at TATA use it. Is it as bad as some of these comments make out?

    Hi

In view of the other replies to this thread, why do the bosses like it, but the workers like myself who will probably be implementing it in a few years time, dislike it intensely?

From a development point of view...

its so different from anything I've used before. Don't like it as it is very restrictive.

If you are used to Windows, it looks different. In fact it looks like something produced in DOS, 30 years ago.

But it is in use throughout the world.

A Danish firm called C2 exchange

I was hoping the consern management would chose MBS Axapta as i have 4 years as a system developer and deployment consultant. But NO, they go and chose a German system that is SOOOOOOOO into control control control it'll criple us. The whole concern is going live at the same time..... Oh my God, i'm not looking forward to iy at all!!

Why dont you get some management software in for the first 3 months

Quest Software will give you Foglight on SAP and Im guessing your using Oracle as the back end.

Where are you based? You could get 3 months trial all installed and use it to get some business system monitoring in place along with ironing out all the bugs wihtout having to go and search......no strings attached and no obligation to purchase.

Its good stuff.....you'd think I still worked for them!
