    Cheif Constable is suggesting the plod refocus their efforts onto violent crimes, burgularies that kind of thing rather than historic child abuse where the suspects are dead eg Heath or hate crimes that consist of for want of a better term hurty words.

    Is she right?

    Fund the police properly so they can do both? Or completely hive off responsibility for historic crimes to separate units with a separate sufficient budget. If you cannot do that then she’s right but we should be able to in one of the richest countries in the world.
