Was probably the lowest point for me as a Barnsley fan since i started attending back in 1988. I can remember it well, i was at work, one of my mates was taking the piss, "jesus, you cant even beat a non league side". This is when we were holding the might of Altrincham to a 0-0 at half time. As we all know we were on a horrendous losing sequence but we couldnt lose to Altrincham could we? Just after half time they scored, I just sat in a chair with my head in my hands, fingers were pointing, even more piss was being taken, absolute rock bottom for me, weve had more lows than highs as a reds fan but this was new depths we were plunging here. Really couldnt see how it could be turned around within a couple a years, let alone the same season. Fast forward to yesterday, the sun beating down on Oakwell, packed crowd, everybody associated with the club seemed to be up for it....from the lowest point to one of the highest in the space of a few months. Extremely proud of the players, the staff and the fans, just an amazing turn around and together weve put the pride back in our club (whatever happens in the remainder of the season) And a special mention to the away fans, I bet theres a few out there that kept going away through the bad run and indeed were there at Altrincham.....days like yesterday make it worth it im sure..
