Okay, it wasn’t especially exciting. If we hadn’t scored I would have left the ground disappointed in our performance – but we did and left ecstatic. Player ratings IMHO

Colgan 7 – Did everything expected of him. Had a bit of trouble with distribution due to our lack of width.

Hassell 7 – Usual steady game until injured

P Reid 8 – Excellent game – MOTM for me

Kay 7 – Okay Anthony, BUT FFS get your arm down and play to the whistle. The linesman WILL NOT put his flag up until the player goes for the ball. Only a matter of time before this costs us

Heckingbottom 5 – Lacking in pace and awareness

Hayes 5 – More interested in not getting injured than performing

Wallwork 7 – I thought he was off the pace a bit 1st half. Closed opposition down quicker in 2nd and was immense

Togwell 7 – Steady game as usual, can’t fault effort or workrate

McCann 6 – Spent a lot of time tracking back to get Hecky out of the crap. Good strike for goal

Knight 7 – Not helped by poor service and ball coming high to him. Even so, he was a handful for their defence. Could have had a pen and will pounce on any mistake – this lad will get goals

Nardiello 6 – Didn’t take your chance when it came Danny boy. You can do better than this

    Subs / Others

Austin 7 – Did nothing wrong

Richards 7 – Held ball up well and could be a good foil for Knight, but we all know his limitations

K Reid 7 - Caused them trouble, good impact

Howard – Hope he takes to being dropped with the correct attitude

Devaney – As for Howard – behave professionally and you should be in on Tuesday for the hapless Hayes

Davey 8 – Set stall out not to lose and didn’t. Good substitutions at correct time.

For Tuesday – Devaney in for Hayes, Howard in for Wallwork. Give Nardiello / Knight partnership another chance for an hour or so. 3 more points await
