So what are the best types of sausage or should you not mess with them... Also on that note tomato sausages are the best, so where shall I go for some. Enjoy and have a nice day
Proper straightforward pork....no herbs or spices or any other flavourings, just pork. Decent fat content so the juice oozes out as they cook best in recent years were from Harden near Bingley but don't work up that way now (thankfully). Butchers in Misterton do nice ones but thats a bit out of the way too
I agree about tomato sausages there are 2 places which are on a par. Brian the Butchers on Agnes Road or D&D Meats they have vans all over the area you can find them on facebook
Big fan of sweet chilli Pork sausages. If you get them from any reputable farm shop they are generally top notch.
If you're over in crime central at any time, try Roney's at Hunter's Bar. Signage on shop....Warning. our sausages contain real meat.
Tomato sausages get my vote too. Other than that I'll only eat straight pork ones, although I do like the sound of Nutkins' sweet chilli pork ones.
once got some lamb and mint from a little butchers win Kirkby Stephen when I was working up there, but I just love the old bratwurst mit senf or currywust. and if any ex squaddies are reading this I bet they're straining on the leash
Lindsays Butchers in Cockermouth for proper Cumberland Sausages My dad worked at the steel works in Workington for a while in the seventies and he found this place. We still go back every so often and get a crate load for the freezer. http://www.wlindsayandsons.co.uk/home.html
When I lived in Germany I loved the currywurst, nice with chips and mayo. There was a stand open practically 24/7 near where I lived as there was an American Airbase
