Just another boring soulless design ala The Ricoh, Walkers Stadium, St Mary’s, Keepmoat , Liberty Stadium (one of the worst) etc.

I think had they not beaten us in the Semi final last year and go on consistently beating us, and had they not taken McFrail and Chopra , then the stadium would have been nice , but due to the huge amount of Sour Grapes eaten on here its a ***** stadium. How shallow.

ok off I will bugger, sorry for telling the truth though

:) as you know I live down in "sheepshagger land" due to careers, I was mortally wounded when they took us out at Wembley and every other time they have turned us over, But it does not stop me admitting that the new stadium they are having built is a really fine ground, sorry if that flies in the face of the official party line on here but thats the facts. Also the one that Swansea had built is a beauty too except for the atrocious parking.Madjeski is a good un too as is the Reebok...I do not like the Brittania at Stoke or The Stadium of Light either. The Man City stadium they got on the DHSS looks ***** too as does the Riverside. The Emirates looks awesome and I think Donny have done ok with their place too.

    well....

I know what you are saying I think, but in time they will develop that"soul". all grounds were new at some point. I suppose ours is a new build in installments , is ours therefore soul-less.... what has in fact made ALL grounds soul-less in my view is the "all seater" ruling.... ***** idea for atmosphere

There is hardly any difference between many of the new grounds. That's the point. If you don't like the Riverside, then you can't like Pride Park, St Mary's or the Walkers Stadium either. Ditto Cardiff's new ground by the looks of it. Same ground, different colour schemes. The only difference with the Liberty Stadium is that it's on a slightly smaller scale than the ones mentioned. Of the relatively new grounds I like the Reebok, as the architects have at least tried to make it different and give it some character. Likewise the McAlpine Stadium.

    Not keen myself either tbh

....but I'm not a fan of new flat-pack stadia anyway. Its alright - nothing more, nothing less. There are good ones obviously - but they are way beyond our budget.

The reality is that Ninian Park is in dire need of a major refit which would have cost the club many millions (that they don't have) whereas the new stadium has been funded by the retail park attached to it. The club are paying for the fit-out etc which has come largely from monies received from the sale of NP.

All about money basically and it'll be a sad day for me when we leave Ninian - seems like I've spent virtually my entire life there!

    Not sure

...will have to wait and see.

At the end of the day it's largely the same people who are going to be going in there - and they like a sing-song :D

Trouble is, as with all new stadia you lose atmosphere with the all-seating nonsense. And you're sat further from the pitch because of the track going around it to allow cherry-pickers etc for maintenance of tannoys, lights etc.

In fairness, the club have sold s/t's in similar sections to where they are now at NP in an effort to maintain atmosphere.

It won't be as quiet as many of them are though, guaranteed.

Can't be worse than the Keepmoat!

15 rows deep and absolutely soulless, even the football grounds guide describe it as that. Can't wait to see what our ground would be like when/if the West is completed and the gap between the North and East is completed like the opposite end. I think it would hold the atmosphere in better even if were still only averaging 12k-13k.
