Apparently 90% of heroin into London is handled by Turkish immigrants. They and the Kurds are chopping lumps out of each other on a daily basis and torture chambers have been discovered.

Today the Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire has applied for extra funding to help cope with their immigrant crimewave.

    There.

    Foreign criminals...

Taking jobs from English criminals, its a scandal.

Ronnie and Reggie wouldn't have put up with them.

When I lived in Holland , I found the dutch hated the turks with a passion for the same reason.

I saw a bit on the news this dinner and the cambridge police said that crime in general was down although knife crime was up, but costs were up due to the force having to employ more interpreters/translators for migrants. Theyalso have to employ polish special police to help out.

During the school holidays when the miners strike was on, I worked a while on the fields and in the pack houses down in Chatteris andnearly all the people were from the local or surrounding areas,I used to read the paper to them in the van on a morning asmost of them were illiterate. The highlight of the week for most of them wasa fight on a friday night...

I guess some places just stay the same, its just the people that change.

Heard on the radio yesterday how firemen are being given Polish phrase cards in case they are called out to a shout and there are no English speakers there. Imagine the scene, fire engine pulls up, fireman gets out of cab and approaches Pole, takes out his cards and reads -

"gdzie jest zapalic" (Where is the fire?),

the Pole says "Tam a propos garaz"

    "Pardon?"

agree entirely, its been going downhill fast for a long time now- U.K society is falling without a parachute, and unless something drastic is done it will only get worse
you have to wonder whatever happened to common sense?

We don't seem to have any policy in place..........

....to screen out the undesirables. Problem is the decent majority who are just here to work get tarred with the same brush.

We've got Polish teants and they're excellent. Decent, hardworking, clean and always on time with the rent.

    You'll get no change

Whilst the majority of the incumbents in Westminster are career politicians. The silent majority (in voting terms) don't vote (yet are vociferate about everything being wrong). Do something about it. Look at all the political parties, make your mind up, join, and participate. Forget the "Labour, Lib. Dems (what's Liberal or Democratic about them?)/Tories,BNP and the Greens(home of the old Communist Party). There many minor parties, with whom you might find general agreement.

IF you want things to change, you'll need to participate.

capitalism needs cheap labour, capitalism needs more labour. its not a surprise that this happens, just the way of the prevailing economic system.

    Absolutely.

But we'remaking very little attemptto screen out the criminal element who are spoiling it for the rest.

in fairness it's hard to know who is a criminal and who isnt until they arrive as many come without criminal records anyway.I wouldnt say "they are spoiling it for the rest of us", but they are certainly spoiling it for some people. edit: probably in poor areas that already have a crime and drugs problem to start with.

its amusing to watch all the papers and political parties banging on about the problem of immigration when they know full well the reasons for it. Frankly its pretty pathetic and is nothing more than a tool for whipping up votes or for selling papers.

The request for additional funding by Cambridgeshire police is for the additional pressures put on them through the increase in population. A spokesperson said that this was not only an increase in crime but also that victims and witnesses were also of the migrant population so interpreters needed for this. It's also for education and leafleting to make them aware of the differences in laws from their home country, of course the mainstream media pick up the immigrant criminals bit, focus on that and ignore the rest. Also one of the big increases was the incidents of drunk-driving - how do you filter out people likely to drink and drive before they enter the country when they are coming from countries that are where we were 20 or 30 years ago with regard to the social stigma of drink-driving.

I didn't say it was easy.........

....I said we're making very little effort. We could do a lot more, other countries manage it.

And I didn't say "they're spoiling it for the rest of us," I said, "They're spoiling it for the rest," ie. the other, genuine immigrant workers. But I'd certainly say town and city centre street crime affects everyone, not just those from poor areas.

The problem the media and political parties "bang on" about isn't immigration, it's the associated crimewave and, whatevertheir respectivereasons for doing so,the problem is very real.

The Cambridgeshire one was a bit of a chain-yanker.

By the way you'd better get to work on how you're going to try to disprove the massive rise in the number of aids cases and other diseases and the associated overloading of the NHS.
