That we're set to offer JCR a new contract...

No idea if it's true but don't see why they'd make it up.

Probably made up as he's only just signed a long term contract.

Contracts not worth the paper they are written on ...

... if a 'bigger' club offers a million for him tomorrow, and offers him a pay increase, he would want to go and we would snatch their hands off, regardless of what his contract says

But the longer the contract the bigger the offer

and we'd also be less pressured to sell if we didn't want to. If you know a player's contract is running out and they won't sign a new one then you often have to cut your loses.

Either way players signing contracts is a positve thing - it shows the people behind the scenes can see something positive happening

About 6 months out of date that news

Typical of the Mirror, living in the past.

That was before SD turned him from one of the best ....

..... wingers in the league into a 'free role superstar', culminating in him being dropped from the team and then finally being re-instated onto the wing in April to get us out of the ****.

In my opinion we would sell any of our players for a million

    true, but..

he will certainly have a release clause price, just like anderson has apparently. so in effect the only person a long contract benefits is the player.
