*WRONG THREAD - no, you f.ck off.* I'm not quite sure how you could argue that: 1. A young target man to replace Trotta 2. A young, quick, highly rated attacking midfielder to replace Williams 3. A young, even more highly rated defensive midfielder to challenge Bailey 4. A young, quick and highly rated striker to replace Cole 5. A young right back to challenge Holgate/Bree is scatter gun. In fact, to me it looks f.cking meticulous in that we've picked positions that need strengthening, identified players that meet the type we want here and gone and got 'em. It looks perfect.
I think so. My argument would be it's pretty obvious that Jay was referring to Huddersfield Red or whatever's he's called's latest rant against Wilson. Therefore, my response is actually a response to Jay's response which makes absolute sense & clarity.
All in all it looks good business and the club have to be congratulated on their efforts to provide funding for the signings, even though we back to the loan scenario which the club was supposed to be deviating from. On paper it's looking good, but at the end of this month, when the games are behind us,and only then will we know if this roll of the dice has been successful. I sincerely hope so just to get the feel good factor back. Best wishes and success to all the new lads!
Yes, the word 'young' does appear rather frequently in Dyson's post! It would be nice to have a couple of experienced players to knit them together. Unfortunately Lita and Treacy have proved to be real disappointments. Ramage on the other hand has been fantastic... I would have preferred an older head in central midfield but we'll see how this Pearson lad gets on. Clearly highly rated, as were Drinkwater and Tunnicliffe. Let's hope he turn out more like Drinkwater!
We've had some good young loanees in the past but they have generally had some first team experience. We're currently trying to blood a handful of our own lads at the minute so aren't really in a position to do it for other clubs.
When we've attracted experienced laikers they've disappointed. The ones who have impressed have been our younger lads - pleased that we're not only giving our lads a chance but picking up lower league players and building relationships with top Prem sides to get their younger lads too. All seems positive to me. Don't get me wrong - I imagine if an experienced laiker became available that we wanted we'd go after him (IE Ramage). We'll see some in the summer I'm sure of it.
