If you do, or do not, go to a particular game and we lose, do you ever wonder if we would have won if you had done the opposite and had or had not, gone to said game? Just me?

Funny you should ask that. I've sometimes thought that then pretty quickly dismissed the thought as utter boll.ocks :)

Yeah, and I think it would all happen differently. One that annoys me is when we lose to someone on the cup and people say we would have played whoever they get drawn against in the next round. No we wouldn't.

And if it’s a draw? Would you wish you were both there and not there at the same time? In another space time dimension of course.

If you don't go and don't look at the result we have won, lost and drawn.

But you'll be thinking about it next time it happens now....

Or the match could have been called off. The possibilities are endless.

    On a different theme.
I do have one superstition, I only watch penalties if we are 3 up. Happened twice last season. (Donny/Forest green missed both) Not watched any since around 2000 otherwise. I'm not actually sure of the last one we missed. Bar the 2 mentioned.

I'm a believer in kama. If I go somewhere and don't hear the score and it's a good day without a hitch we'll win. If it's a crap day we'll lose and Barnsley compound the misery.

I don't go to games at the moment. Life was too hectic and got out of the habit - but before I did we lost or drew most games I'd been too over several seasons. So now I prefer to think that all the games we win, we'd have lost or drawn if I'd gone. So far this season, we are about 40 points up on where we'd have been if I had a season ticket and travelled to away games...

According to Chaos Theory, your being at Oakwell for a particular game could cause a slight breeze (bean diet might help) which could cause a pressure wave which gains in strength as it arrows towards the ball just as Phillips gives it all he's got, causing a minute deviation from it's intended path and the keeper saves it. Result; we could have lost 1-0 on Saturday.

    STAY AWAY YOU FARTY PANTS.

And what would happen if Schrodinger’s cat got onto the pitch? Assuming Schrodinger was in the crowd. And he’d brought his cat.

One thing along these lines which slightly irritates me. If we've had 3 missed chances at HT someone comes on and says "we should have been 3 up at the break"
NO! we should have been one up. If we'd scored the first one we wouldn't have had the other two chances. Irritation over :)

    In a similar vein...
I knew we would beat Derby. I was 100% convinced of it. The match itself was just a formality. But I also knew that if I had put money on us to win, we wouldn't have. So I didn't.

It would have stayed in the box.

"In Hindu philosophy, kama - the third purushartha (aims of human life), is defined as desire, longing and pleasure, of which sexual pleasure is considered essential for the well-being of an individual."

I think it's an ego thing. Plenty of times I've thought I was a jinx. Usually happens when we're on a 5 game winning streak against good opposition, then I manage to go to a match - home against struggling Burton or summat - then it'll be the most frustrating loss ever. Really puts you off.

Also, I always notice if i have an unlucky Saturday morning we usually win, and vice versa

My first game in 1996/7 after 5 wins from the start of the season was QPR at home....:(
